Tim McEwen
With Archipelago Learning since 2007Tim McEwen joined us in March 2007 as our President and Chief Executive Officer and oversees the strategic direction, and drives the growth, development and leadership of our organization. He was appointed Chairman in April 2011. Mr. McEwen has a deep passion for education and learning with over 35 years of operational and leadership experience in the education sector. Prior to Archipelago Learning, Mr. McEwen spent three years as Chief Executive Officer of Harcourt Achieve, a multi-national supplemental education company. He has held various executive leadership positions including: three years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Haights Cross Communications and four years as President and Chief Executive Officer of Thomson Learning's Higher Education and Lifelong Learning Groups (now Cengage Learning), a leader in the creation of digital and print educational products for the college market. Mr. McEwen earned a B.S. in Education from East Stroudsburg State University and an M.S. in Education from the University of Georgia.

Mark S. Dubrow
With Archipelago Learning since 2011Mark S. Dubrow joined us in January 2011 as our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and oversees the finance and accounting functions of the organization. He is an experienced corporate executive and financial expert with over 20 years of financial and operating experience. Most recently, Mark was the as Chief Financial Officer for Pegasus Solutions - a previously public software-as-a-service business with a similar subscription business model as that of Archipelago Learning. During his 10 years with Pegasus, Mr. Dubrow held various finance and executive positions including President of their Financial Services Division and Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance. Prior to joining Pegasus Solutions, he held financial positions with Homestead Village, American Management Systems and Marriott International. Mr. Dubrow earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland/College Park, and an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Martjin Tel
With Archipelago Learning since 2009Martijn Tel joined us in October 2009 and is currently our Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer responsible for daily operations of Study Island, Reading Eggs, and Northstar Learning product lines. He has over 15 years of finance and operations experience, previously serving as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Medical Media Holdings. Mr. Tel has held executive finance positions in the education sector including, nearly two years as Chief Financial Officer for Harcourt Education Global Operations, three years as Chief Financial Officer for Harcourt Achieve, a multi-national supplemental education company, and two years as Chief Financial Officer for Classroom Connect, a company that creates professional development programs and online instructional materials for K-12 education. Mr. Tel began his career at Elsevier Science spending time in both the Amsterdam and New York offices. He earned a graduate (drs) degree and a postgraduate "controllers opleiding" (RC) from the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Bobby Babbrah
With Archipelago Learning since 2012Bobby Babbrah joined us in January 2012 as our Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for the strategic design, implementation and operation of our technology products and platforms. Mr. Babbrah has over 18 years of IT experience, including the launch of breakthrough cloud and on-premise products many within the education sector. Mr. Babbrah brings a wealth of experience in product strategy, general management and technical architecture on all major enterprise, cloud and mobile platforms. Prior to joining us, Mr. Babbrah served as President and Chief Product Officer of ImageTag Inc. Previously, he served as Vice President, Architecture and Content Engineering for Pearson Education. Prior to that Bobby led technology strategy and operations for venture-backed, Internet, security and content management companies. Mr. Babbrah earned his B.S. in Computer Science, M.S in Information Management & Computer Science and M.B.A from Arizona State University.
Donna Regenbaum
With Archipelago Learning since 2011Donna Regenbaum joined us in January 2011 as our Executive Vice President, Product, Marketing and Corporate Strategy and is responsible for managing corporate strategy, product development, and marketing. She has over 20 years of management experience in both large and small organizations, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Current Energy, a Dallas-based energy management company. Prior to Current Energy, Ms. Regenbaum served in several leadership positions at Dell, including Director, Services Business & Sales Operations for Small & Medium Business. Ms. Regenbaum has held various leadership positions at Nokia Mobile Phones, Weblink Wireless, iChoose, and Bain & Company. She earned a B.A. with distinction in History and Economics from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
Richard Whalley
With Archipelago Learning since 2010Richard Whalley joined us in September 2010 and is our Managing Director for EducationCity. He is responsible for daily operations of the EducationCity product line initially joining as Director of Sales and Marketing and was promoted to Managing Director in March 2011. For two years prior to Archipelago Learning, Mr. Whalley undertook a number of management consultancy roles in diverse businesses including: financial services, internet retailing and construction with a focus on re-organization and business development. After an early career in marketing to a range of public sector organizations, Richard spent 16 years with Choices UK plc, a major UK based retailer and distributor of DVD, video games and CD music where he progressed through a number of marketing, business development, operations and general management positions to join the main board as Commercial Director. Richard earned a B.S. with honors in Management Sciences (Marketing) from the University of Lancaster.
Malinda (Mindy) G. Passmore
With Archipelago Learning since 2010Malinda (Mindy) G. Passmore, CPA, joined us in June 2010 as our Senior Vice President of Finance and is responsible for finance, accounting, and tax. She has over 25 years of experience in business transformation, process improvement, business development and growth, strategic planning and forecasting, international operations, business systems implementation, financial management and reporting and other executive management functions. Prior to joining us, Ms. Passmore spent 11 years with Commercial Metals Company, where she began as Corporate Controller and advanced to serve as the first global Chief Information Officer. Prior to that, she served as President and Chief Financial Officer for healthcare companies that performed managed care services and as Senior Manager in Audit at Deloitte & Touche in the Dallas office. She earned a BBA in Accounting from Corpus Christi State University (now Texas A&M at Corpus Christi), attended the Stanford University Executive Program, and is a member of the Financial Executives International and AICPA.
Cathy Caldwell
With Archipelago Learning since 2002Cathy Caldwell joined us in November 2002 and is our Vice President, Product Development. She is responsible for new product development, product strategy, and product maintenance. Prior to joining Archipelago Learning, she was an Assistant Director at Score! Educational Center, a provider of customized supplementary education and tutoring services. Ms. Caldwell earned her B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. While a graduate student, she taught multiple undergraduate courses in Statistics and Research Design and was a contributing author to a textbook on low incidence disorders in children.
Donna Rinn
With Archipelago Learning since 2010Donna Rinn joined us in December 2010 as our Vice President, Business Systems and is responsible for IT enterprise financial systems and reporting, customer relationship management systems, and IT quality assurance. Prior to Archipelago Learning, Ms. Rinn spent over 25 years with Commercial Metals Company in various leadership functions the most recent being, IT Director, Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure and Security, and Director, Enterprise Application. She served as Program Director for global process improvement and SAP implementation and held the position as Manager of financial and business systems for the manufacturing sector in the Americas. Ms. Rinn earned a B.A. in Computer Systems Management and Accounting from Texas Lutheran University. She is a certified Project Management Professional.
Greg Smith
With Archipelago Learning since 2008Greg Smith, joined us in July 2008 as our Vice President, Customer Retention, and is responsible for strategic planning, customer initiatives and product development. Prior to joining Archipelago Learning, Mr. Smith spent 20 years in the education field, the past 15 as a school administrator. Most recently, Mr. Smith was the principal of Robert S. Hyer Elementary (Highland Park ISD) in Dallas, TX. Prior to his principalship in Highland Park, Mr. Smith served in Garland ISD where he was awarded Elementary Principal of the Year in 2002. As a teacher, he taught gifted and talented students and was honored with the Teacher of the Year award in 1991. Mr. Smith earned a B.S. in Education from Southwest Texas State as well as an M.S. and Mid-Management Certification from Texas A&M Commerce.
Aaron Quiggle
With Archipelago Learning since 2002Aaron Quiggle joined us in 2002 and is our Vice President, National Director of Account Management and Inside Sales. He is responsible for our renewal and inside sales strategy and operations. Mr. Quiggle began his tenure with Archipelago Learning as a sales representative in North Carolina, later being promoted to Regional Sales Director. He advanced to his current position as Director, Account Management and Inside Sales in 2009. Previously, Mr. Quiggle spent five years a fifth grade teacher in both Asheboro City Schools and Wake County Schools in North Carolina. He earned a B.A. in Legal Studies and an M.A. in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh.
Michael Roseman
With Archipelago Learning since 2004Michael Roseman joined us in 2004 and currently serves as Vice President, National Field Sales Director. In this role, he is responsible for executing our new sales strategy and operations and managing the field sales staff and Regional Sales Managers. Mr. Roseman began his career with Archipelago Learning as a Pennsylvania sales representative and was later promoted to Regional Sales Director, a position he held with the organization for 5 years. Prior to joining Archipelago Learning, Mr. Roseman spent 3 years teaching in Missouri and California, while completing his teaching credential and Master's in Education from the University of San Diego. He also holds a BA in History, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Washington University in St. Louis.
Carrie Castellanos
With Archipelago Learning since 2009Carrie Castellanos joined us in February 2009 and is currently our Director, Human Resources. She is responsible for the organizational direction of talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits administration and manager consultation. She has over 12 years of human resources experience in employee relations, training development, organizational development and talent management. Before making her mark on "the island", Ms. Castellanos served as a Human Resources Manager of UMTH General Services. Prior to that, she served as Human Resources Manager for LeeMAH Electronics, a global manufacturing company. Ms. Castellanos earned a B.A. in Communications from the University of Idaho and is certified as a PHR (Professional Human Resources).
